How do I apply?
The easiest and quickest way to apply is to fill in our online registration form. We will then contact you with further information.
What is NCLEX?
The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is required for all nurses wishing to practice within the United States. AtlasMR helps you to apply and prepare for this examination. Without passing the NCLEX exam you can not work in the US as a registered nurse.
How do I get a nursing job in the United States?
Once we have your CV and have clarified you have the necessary qualifications/experience, one of our consultants will schedule a telephone
interview with you. Subject to the outcome of this, you will be matched to a hospital and job in the location of your choice. We will then arrange convenient times for your interview with potential
US hospital employers. Job assignment is based on your qualifications stated in your CV/resume and the hospital requirements.
How does AtlasMR help me get a USA Permanent Residency Green Card / Visa?
AtlasMR will match you with a potential employer once you receive and accept a job offer your US employer will then sponsor and process your US Permanent Residency Green Card/Visa.
What is IELTS?
All non-native English speakers need to pass the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) in order to work as a nurse within the United States. The IELTS assesses both written and oral proficiency of the English Language.
What is CGFNS?
Through the CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools), foreign trained nurses become certified by taking the qualifying exam. This makes you eligible to take the NCLEX nursing exam which qualifies them to work in the United States.
Only certain State Nursing Boards require candidates to take CGFNS as well as NCLEX. We recommend that you apply to one that does not require both. However if you have already applied, we will assist you through this process. Please contact us for further details.
How long are the placement assignments?
AtlasMR is not a travelling nurse or a temp agency. We place our nurses in hospitals in permanent positions. Individual hospitals will ask that nurses commit to staying with them usually for periods ranging from two to three years.
What courses are available to prepare for NCLEX?
AtlasMR supplies an NCLEX home study/online review course in conjunction with Kaplan. By enrolling for this you will have the benefit of an AtlasMR mentor and greatly increase your chances of passing the NCLEX exam first time. We also supply a number of guides that will help you to prepare for NCLEX exams and for when you move to the US.
Do I need to sign a contract?
If you are successful at the initial interview and decide to proceed with the application, you will receive a letter outlining your obligations to AtlasMR and our obligations to you. Once you accept a job offer, the client will require you to sign a 2 to 3 year binding employment contract and you will also be required to sign a legal contract with AtlasMR at this time.
Is there a fee for AtlasMR placement services?
We do not charge a fee to nursing candidates.
How much will I get paid?
Your salary will be determined by your future employer, as defined by state employment legislation. This will be detailed in each job offer. Salaries vary from State to State and you will be paid at exactly the same rate as other US nurses with the same experience and qualifications working in the same hospital.
How long before I can start working in a permanent position in the US?
The time will vary from person to person. As we are a permanent placement agency, the process will take anywhere from 6 to 24 months. Once you
arrive in the US, your position is permanent and you are free to live in the US for the duration of your employment. Currently due to retrogression green card applications are taking significantly
longer than usual.
Can my family come with me to America?
Yes! When we begin your US Green Card/Visa application, we will be happy to complete this process on behalf of your family. If you require US Visa/Green card applications for your spouse and children, please contact us for the costs involved.
How does AtlasMR prepare me to travel to my new assignment?
AtlasMR coordinates all of your travel arrangements with your new employer.
Am I under any obligation after applying?
Absolutely not. Your application is used to match you with potential employers, but you are free to leave the application process at any time. We just ask that you keep us informed of your plans at all times. Once you are registered with us, you can discover the exciting possibilities of relocating to a new position in the USA.
What if I do not meet the requirements?
The requirements above are set out by the State Boards and the hospitals themselves not us. If you do not meet the necessary requirements please contact us and we will see if we can help in any way.
Can I work in any other countries, besides America?
Currently the majority of our open nursing positions are in the United States. However, we do have a number of positions in other countries with nursing shortages.
